Dr. Rebecca Robinson, Associate Professor at the University of Rhode Island's Graduate School of Oceanography, shows off some of her lab equipment she uses to a group of journalism students from URI. Even though the state of Rhode Island and Narragansett Bay may seem small, it takes a lot of brain power, time, and effort from scientists like her to keep it safe for us to enjoy.
Dr. Isaac Ginis
Dr. Isaac Ginis, Professor of Oceanography at the University of Rhode Island, gives a presentation to a group of journalism students on his role in the studying of hurricanes. While Dr. Ginis has made many leaps and bounds in his field of study, he also explains how we have a lot further to go if we want to fully understand the power and destruction of these storms.
